Title : Awakening sovereignty within: Healing trauma, releasing codependency, and returning to self-trust
Abstract:
This session explores trauma-informed healing, relational recovery, and the journey toward personal sovereignty. Whitney Walker, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, recovery coach, and host of the Women Waken Podcast, draws on her clinical expertise and spiritual guidance to help individuals, couples, and families navigate addiction, codependency, eating disorders, and complex trauma.
Participants will engage with the principles of emergent, non-prescriptive healing approaches that emphasize self-trust, alignment, and reclaiming one’s authentic voice. Whitney integrates storytelling, humor, and relational presence to guide attendees in exploring inner meaning, identifying patterns of relational and self-governance, and creating strategies for sustainable emotional well-being.
The session addresses themes of trauma governance, voice identity, and recovery-centered transformation, offering attendees practical tools and reflective exercises to deepen self-awareness, foster resilience, and build supportive relational networks. Through interactive discussion and guided reflection, participants will learn how to recognize trauma patterns, cultivate emotional attunement, and develop frameworks for healing that honor personal experience and agency.
By the end of this presentation, attendees will leave with renewed clarity on their own paths to healing, actionable strategies for supporting others in recovery, and an understanding of how relational and spiritual frameworks can enhance personal empowerment. This session is designed for therapists, recovery professionals, community leaders, and anyone interested in transformative approaches to mental health and holistic wellness.
