Biography:
Aadya Syal is a high school researcher focused on machine learning for addiction science and health. She built PIVOT, a machine learning system that predicts when someone trying to quit vaping is likely to be most vulnerable, using a framework she developed called Addiction Resonance Theory to model the biological and behavioral patterns behind cravings. The production model reaches 93.4% accuracy, trained on data expanded from 973 original survey respondents to 8.65 million samples. Aadya is continuing to develop PIVOT alongside her broader interest in machine learning for health.
