Title : Hydrogen medicine: A novel antioxidant strategy for neuroprotection, stress resilience, and mental wellness

Abstract:

Oxidative stress is a key mechanism underlying aging, chronic diseases, and behavioral health disorders. The primary source of this oxidative damage is endogenous intoxication - the accumulation of metabolic toxins that continuously generate free radicals. Conventional antioxidants are often unable to solve this systemic problem. Active hydrogen has proven to be a unique therapeutic agent due to its exceptional properties: its minimal molecular size allows it to penetrate cell membranes, the blood-brain barrier, and reach mitochondria and nuclei; it acts as a selective antioxidant, neutralizing cytotoxic reactive oxygen species.

We have developed the world's first comprehensive biomedical protocol that combines hydrogen medicine (inhalations, infusions, balneotherapy, autologous fecal microbiota transplantation / FMT) with hydrogen nutrition based on a food supplement we created. The direct administration of active hydrogen ensures rapid systemic delivery of this universal antioxidant and cytoprotector, promoting toxin neutralization and restoration of redox balance at the cellular level. We argue that effective treatment must be holistic, simultaneously targeting systemic detoxification, cellular protection, and nutritional support to create a synergistic therapeutic environment.

Our 30 years of clinical experience, applied to more than 70,000 patients, provides compelling evidence for the effectiveness of this unique approach. In cases of depression, aggression, chronic fatigue syndrome, and psychomotor agitation, the integration of hydrogen procedures with hydrogen-enriched nutrition has led to significantly better outcomes compared to isolated interventions. Patients report a marked reduction in anxiety, improved sleep quality, increased energy levels, and growing mental clarity. These improvements directly correlate with objective biochemical markers of reduced oxidative stress and intoxication, confirming a causal link between the application of active hydrogen and the restoration of central nervous system functions.

The combined protocol we propose for the first time in the world, integrating methods of hydrogen medicine with hydrogen nutrition, offers a safe, non-invasive, and scientifically sound strategy. It addresses the root cause of oxidative stress through detoxification and cellular protection, representing a paradigm shift towards a truly integrative and preventive model in the field of behavioral health and clearly demonstrating that a comprehensive approach is key to sustainable mental well-being.

He is an Honorary Professor of the Oxford Academic Union, a Honored Inventor of Russia and an Honorary Inventor of Europe. A pioneer in the field of hydrogen medicine, he founded the world's first dedicated hydrogen medicine clinic in 1993. For over 30 years, his clinical and research work has focused on developing and applying a unique integrative protocol that combines hydrogen therapy (inhalations, infusions and others) with hydrogen-enriched nutrition. This work is supported by his innovations in internationally patented hydrogen generators and dietary supplements. He is the author of over 60 patents, 10 monographs, and the recipient of numerous international awards and medals.
