Biography:
Dr Aarti Bang completed her MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) from B.J Medical College which is one of the top colleges of India. I worked as a rural medical officer for 18 months in the tribal regions of Maharashtra. She finished her Psychiatry residency in 2016 and joined as a Psychiatrist in the internationally renowned public health organization SEARCH (Society for Education, Action and Research in Community Health). She has been leading the Mental Health Program at SEARCH since 2018. She undertook the first community prevalence survey to estimate the burden of common mental disorders in the tribal belt of Gadchiroli. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University with a full scholarship support.
