Biography:
Joan Carlson is an Associate Professor with Indiana University’s School of Social Work. She has extensive research and practice experience with ethnically diverse adolescents and adults. She also has a number of publications/presentations spotlighting the development of substance use prevention and intervention materials for adolescent youth. Currently, she is the Co-Principal Investigator on a Breakthrough Collaborative Series working side-by-side with community agencies in the dissemination of trauma-informed knowledge that translates into amelioration. Most recently she served as the principal investigator on a grant funded by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Association.
