Biography:
Joy Allen, PhD, MT-BC is Chair of the Music Therapy Department and Founding Director of the Berklee Music and Health Institute at Berklee College of Music. Her work focuses on translating neuroarts research into scalable models that integrate music across healthcare, public health, and community settings. Dr. Allen leads interdisciplinary initiatives that advance research, workforce development, innovation, and systems change to expand equitable access to music-based health solutions. Her current work emphasizes cross-sector collaboration, implementation science, and developing practical roadmaps that bridge evidence, clinical practice, and community wellbeing to improve health outcomes across diverse populations.
