Title : Fighting the fentanyl crisis: Making opioid overdose reversal agents more accessible to communities in need
Abstract:
Medea, Inc. is a North American medical and pharmaceutical procurement company specializing in sourcing and distributing a wide range of high-quality FDA-approved medical products for federal and state government entities.
Brandon Laidlaw, CEO and chairman of Medea, will discuss how communities can significantly reduce opioid overdoses and save lives by making opioid overdose reversal agents more accessible. Attendees will learn how to fight the growing fentanyl crisis in their communities and save lives by gaining access to opioid overdose reversal agents through partnerships with trusted procurement companies like Medea. Target audiences will include local state and city government officials responsible for community health.
Brandon will highlight two specific case studies.
The first is a partnership with Orange County, Calif.
In June 2023, Medea partnered with Orange County to help save the lives of OC residents by preventing fentanyl and other opioid-related deaths. The company did so by serving as the authorized distributor of 7,500 units of 8 mg (Kloxxado) naloxone nasal spray, a life-saving medicine that can revive someone experiencing an overdose, to Orange County - the first California County to do so.
The second case study will focus on Medea’s partnership with CalOptima Health.
Medea was the company behind CalOptima Health’s Dec. 2023 community event that distributed naloxone - for free - to those covered by CalOptima Health. Brandon will discuss these important initiatives and results in his presentation.
By partnering with Orange County, Calif. and expanding our government contracts nationwide, Medea hopes to save hundreds of thousands of lives by preventing opioid overdose-related deaths.
