Cannabis Use

Cannabis Use

The effects that a cannabis (marijuana) user will feel are unpredictable and dependent on factors such as dosage, administration method, past experience, any concurrent drug use, personal expectations, mood state, and the social setting in which the substance is used. Cannabis (often known as marijuana) side effects include:

  • An altered state of awareness. The individual may feel "high," extremely cheerful, giddy, at ease,   social, and wanton
  • Warped understandings of time and space. The user could detect things around them more subtly and have more acute senses of taste, sight, smell, and hearing.
  • A frequent increase in hunger, a faster heartbeat and pulse, bloodshot eyes, and dilated pupils ("the munchies").
  • Impaired coordination and attention, which makes it challenging and unsafe to perform tasks like operating machinery or an automobile.
  • Negative experiences, such as anxiousness, panic, self-consciousness, and paranoid thoughts.
