The phrase "behaviour therapy," sometimes known as "behavioural psychotherapy," is a general one that refers to clinical psychotherapy that employs techniques derived from behaviourism and/or cognitive psychology. It examines exact, sophisticated behaviours and how the outside world or other people's mental states influence such behaviours. It also includes responsive or operant taming techniques, which are based on the learning theories of behaviourism. Behaviour therapy is action-based, in contrast to the therapies that are rooted on knowledge (such as psychoanalytic therapy and humanistic therapies). Behavioural treatment has a tendency to pay close attention ion as a result.
