Behavioural medicine is an interdisciplinary field of research and practice that deals with the factor which affects individual health by their thoughts and behaviour. Unlike treatments that are grounded in knowledge, behaviour therapy is action-based (such as psychoanalytic therapy and humanistic therapies). As a result, behavioural treatment tends to pay particular attention to it. Since the behaviour is the problem, the goal is to teach them new behaviours that will minimise or eliminate the problem. Behavioural medicine deals with the study of undesirable behaviours such as drug abuse and utilizes this therapy and techniques such as biofeedback, relaxation training, and hypnosis.
