It is a self-inflicted act of wilful self-destruction. Suicide is a symptom of depression and is a major issue. Suicide is typically committed impulsively in times of crisis because of a breakdown in the capability to cope with life difficulties such as financial troubles, marital break-ups, or severe pain and disease. Suicidal behaviour is also highly related to conflict, tragedy, violence, abuse, or loss, as well as a sense of solitude.
